the Beginning

Teach Me To Love Like You
The founder cheering on a concrete platform by the sea.

I was either eight or nine years old when I sat in a makeshift office tucked inside a small closet and prayed a simple but life-altering prayer:

"God, teach me to love as You love."

At such a young age, what did I really know about love—its meaning, its depth, its challenges, or its power? Looking back, I believe it was only through the innocence and naivety of childhood that I could have uttered such a bold request.

Without understanding the complexity of that prayer, I spoke those words with certainty and without fear. I had no idea of the struggles, heartbreaks, sacrifices, joys, and profound moments of happiness that would follow. Yet through every experience, God would use life itself to teach me how to love—to love others as God loves me.

Over the years, I have come to understand that love is a journey. It is a process of growth, transformation, and continual surrender. It is learning to die to the lesser self so that something greater can emerge. There is always another level of becoming love, expressing love, and allowing love to expand within us.

That little closet became my sanctuary. A cardboard box from a newly delivered refrigerator served as my desk, and a small blue children's chair was my seat. There, as a young girl trying to make sense of the words in the Bible, I would often whisper the same prayer:

"Teach me to love like You."

In many ways, that prayer became the seed from which everything else would grow. The universe, life, and God would begin shaping the answer to that request through the experiences that followed.

It was in that moment that Love Call Foundation was conceived.

Long before there was an organization, a mission, or a foundation, there was simply a child asking to learn how to love.

It was in that moment, in a small closet where the journey of Love Call Foundation began.
